We The Builders - Sanjay Mortimer

A Word from E3D

Sanjay Mortimer, co-founder of E3D and inspirational leader with the vision to ‘change the way that humanity manufactures goods’, tragically passed away in 2021 at just 32 years of age.

In such a small amount of time, Sanjay made a monumental impact. His infectious personality and dedication to 3D printing continues to inspire those young and old – whether you’re an early adopter of 3D printing or you’re just starting off, it’s likely that Sanjay has graced your life in some way. He leaves behind a legacy of knowledge, a devoted followership, and a proud spot in the 3D printing history books.

Sanjay Mortimer was a legend in our industry and played a huge role in revolutionsing FDM printing, his legacy has to live on. E3D have set up a charitable foundation in his memory, the ‘Sanjay Mortimer Foundation’, to support gifted potential engineers, who may not be able to progress without funding, and for whom mainstream education may not be working in some way. You can read more information on the SMF here – https://e3d-online.com/blogs/news/the-sanjay-mortimer-foundation.

We’d like to thank Chris and Todd (We The Builders) from the bottom of our hearts for facilitating this amazing community project, we feel that it is a wonderful way to pay hommage to our dearest Sanjay as a community. Regardless of whether you’re attending ERRF in person we welcome you to join us in pulling off this BIG project. With the foundation in mind, E3D asks you to consider making a small donation if you’re taking part in the build, every penny counts and together we will be able to help change the lives of many young people.
